Wonderful visit from Nairobi Academy

Kenyan and Danish students students and their teachers had a tremendous week.

Oct. 8th students, their parents and teachers from Grenaa Gymnasium greeted our friends from Nairobi Academy in the central station in Aarhus. Thanks to getting acquainted on Facebook beforehand, guest and hosts found one another easily.

Apart from attending classes in Grenaa Gymnasium, folk dancing, listning to local jazz music, brewing and attending an english class in the local evening school, bicycling etc. were some of the activities that our friends were entertained with. They also had a day trip to Aarhus where they visited the modern art gallery, the cathedral, the university - and of course one of the shopping malls.

During thursdays morning assembly they entertained singing and giving speeches - all improvised, which was of course much appreciated. 

Bonds of frindship has been tied during this week. It appeared that dreams, interests and life style are much the same among students from Kenya and Denmark alike. tears were shed. "But they're just like us" one of the Danish students commented.

Needless to say goodbye tears were unavoidable.
