Committees

In addition to the school board our school has a student board, an educational board, a liaison committee, an environment and safety committee, and a number of other committees typically comprising a member of the management and a number of teachers and students. These committees make their own decisions or advise the school board and management.

The Activities Committee

The Activities Committee is responsible for all activities outside of teaching. Half the members of the committee are students who are elected by the student board.

The committee is responsible for morning assemblies, joint lessons, school plays/musicals, school parties etc., and it co-operates with ”Olympos”, the student association, planning Olympos parties and with Operation Dagsværk (Danish Students’ International Solidarity Day) concerning projects in third-world countries.

The Economy Committee

The Economy Committee, which is advisory and has no student representation, is especially responsible for budgets and applications for allocations etc.

The Educational Committee

The Educational Committee is responsible for everything regarding teaching and learning from educational goals, educational debates, work in our school teacher teams as well as evaluation. There are two student representatives on this committee.

The Lesson/Subject Organisation Committee

The lesson/subject organisation committee is responsible for the range of subjects, the setting up of classes, the organising of timetables and the division of lessons among the teachers.

The IB Joint Committee

The IB Joint Committee consists of three teachers, six students (two representing each year), and the IB-Coordinator. This committee meets once a month to propose and discuss general matters, both social and academic, relating to Pre-IB and IB.

The Student Board

The student board ensures there is student democracy at our school. This board chooses representatives for committees etc. It is through the committees that you have a direct influence on the daily life of the school.

It is also the student board you should contact when needing a study card, wanting to buy a ”score book”, wishing to try on a student cap etc. The student board functions as a link between the school management, teachers and students. Each class elects two representatives at the beginning of the school year.

Teacher Team

Every class has a teacher team that coordinates the teaching, i.e. which specific tools, methods of work and interdisciplinary competences you attain in the course of your period of study. T

he teacher team ensures that the demands on your independence and study competence increase progressively so that later you can complete a course of higher education. Furthermore, the team is in charge of the study plan, evaluation plan and distribution of work.

It is also the teacher team’s responsibility to ensure that introductory courses in the different subjects are followed up. Finally, the team also has to make a plan for the continuous assessment of teaching and of your academic and study-related competences.
