Transportation

The Danish Government has reached an agreement on a new "HyperCard" for young people, which will make using public transportation markedly cheaper.

The HyperCard will cost 300 kr. per month and will be available to everyone studying a youth education (in other words gymnasiums, business educations, social and health care schools, etc.).

HyperCard is a pilot project, where students are offered a card which enables them to do the following for 300 kr. per month:

  • a periodical card for free commuting between home and school
  • a periodical card for free rides with public bus transportation within the fare area where the student lives. See the above map.
  • a free WildCard/WunderCard, which allows you to buy youth tickets for the train rides between different fare areas.

HyperCard is a pilot project which will be running from August 1, 2011 to July 31, 2013.

How do I get a HyperCard?

We anticipate that it will be possible to order the card in May or June of 2011 on the website hypercard.dk. New information about recent developments can be found on hypercard.dk

HyperCard is an offer from a partnership between Transportministeriet, Undervisningsministeriet, Trafikselskaberne i Danmark, DSB, Arriva Tog, Metroen og Trafikstyrelsen.

Hypercard.dk is now open for ordering! Please do it no later than 15th of June, if you want to be sure to have your card when school starts.
