Trainee Teachers  

To become a gymnasium and HF teacher one first has to have graduated from a university and afterwards undergone a two-year period of training at a gymnasium.

One starts this period of two years by observing fully-trained teachers and then gradually taking over the teaching of a number of classes. Further to this a trainee teacher takes part in various courses.

In the second year the trainee is solely responsible for his/her subject in some classes. Of course, every now and again a teacher trainee supervisor pays a visit. It is possible that your class gets a trainee teacher attached either as an observer or as a teacher.

Vagn Rohde, the Deputy Head, is in charge of training and coordinates these two-year teacher training periods.
